Frank Breitinger defended his PhD thesis 'On the utility of bytewise approximate matching in computer science with a special focus on digital forensics investigations'

Frank Breitinger successfully defended his PhD thesis  „On the utility of bytewise approximate matching in computer science with a special focus on digital forensics investigations“ on Monday, June 30th 2014. The defense was well attended by CASED members. Frank was a member of the da/sec group since 2011 and passed as first student earned his master’s degree in computer sciences at Hochschule Darmstadt a joint PhD examination between TU Darmstadt and Hochschule Darmstadt. The members of the examing committee were Prof. Dr. Stefan Katzenbeisser (TU Darmstadt), Prof. Dr. Harald Baier (Hochschule Darmstadt) and Prof. Dr. Felix Freiling (FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg).
