The Speaker Odyssey 2018 is the core conference of the speaker recognition and language recognition community. The Best Paper Award board announced three best paper awards assessing the criteria:
- Novelty/Contribution to the speaker recognition community
- Paper evaluation by its reviewers
- Presentation quality
- Discussion within the board, and with colleagues during the pauses
