Abstract

Iris is one of the biometric modalities with higher entropy. This means that it is easy to recognize an individual among one billion people by comparing the patterns of their iris tissue. In addition, Deep learning (DL) is a modern field of computer science and mathematics that boosted all the scientific fields with the use of different deep learning models like deep neural nets, convolutional neural nets, transformers, among others. In this scientific talk, we will talk about the Iris recognition (IR) systems and how they have evolved throughout the recent years with the help of DL. Besides, some IR applications will be reviewed.
